Talk about controversial subjects! There are so many incredibly beautiful beaches in the Caribbean that a list of the 5 best will always fall short in somebody’s opinion. Of course, this is true with any “Top” list, but when it concerns Caribbean beaches the topic can become heated! So to be fair, let us know what your favorite beaches are and we promise to add them to a revised list.
By the way, although this article is not directly related to Caribbean retirement, it will give you an idea of what is waiting for you when you do decide to relocate to your very own place in the sun!
So here we go. Our favorite beaches in the Caribbean!
Grace Bay Beach, Turks & Caicos
Providenciales (“Provo”), of the Turks & Caicos islands, is home to one of the prettiest beaches in the Caribbean: Grace Bay Beach. The Grace Bay area is particularly relevant to seniors as it is a favorite destination for retirees from around the world. There are numerous luxury developments and resorts on Grace Bay, and the beach is just gorgeous. A perennial favorite, Grace Bay Beach is beyond doubt one of the best beaches in the Caribbean.
Shoal Bay Beach, Anguilla
Shoal Bay Beach in Anguilla is a pristine expanse of sparkling white sand that beckons visitors to the island. Lots of activities are available but because the beach is two miles long, there is never a sense of being crowded. An offshore reef offers great snorkeling opportunities and also keeps the sea calmer towards shore. There are also restaurants and great music along the beach.
Trunk Bay, St Johns
Trunk Bay Beach on St Johns in the US Virgin Islands is frequently voted one of the best beaches in the world by Conde Nast and was named the most beautiful beach in the world by the National Geographic Society. Aside from its sheer beauty, it is also visited for for its unique underwater snorkeling trail.
Punta Cana – Bavaro Beach, Dominican Republic
As one of the top tourist destinations in the world, it is not surprising that Punta Cana – Bavaro has one of the most beautiful beaches in the Caribbean, and even in the world. With over 35 km of continuous beachfront, the beach is ideal for water activities and just hanging out. Punta Cana is home to many resorts and countless restaurants and nightclubs. Still, the beach itself manages to remain surprisingly unpopulated and pristine.
7 Mile Beach, Grand Cayman
The sparkling water and coral sand of 7 Mile Beach in Grand Cayman are internationally renowned. The beach is lined with luxury resorts and beach bars and has a very lively atmosphere. Caribbean Travel and Life Magazine recently named it the Best Beach in the Caribbean. It also features some smaller coral reefs that are great for snorkeling.
